Catie is the director of projects and technical specialist at Terrapin Bright Green. Catie is responsible for the strategy and implementation of complex projects with a special focus on human health and sustainability in the built environment. Recent accomplishments include the development of a biophilic design framework for Google’s global real estate division and the crafting of a division management strategy for a capital investment group with sovereign and private equity funds allocated for the sustainable design, construction and operation of five global hotel brands.
Catie is a co-author of “14 Patterns of Biophilic Design” (2014) and the award winning “Economics of Biophilia” (2012), a seminal piece on the direction of the industry and business case for designing with nature in mind. Catie is an Accredited Professional with both the International WELL Building Institute and the U.S. Green Building Council. She is an advisor to Fitwel at the Center for Active Design and to the International Living Future Institute for which she helped establish the Stephen R. Kellert Award for Biophilic Design. Catie received her Master of Arts in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University.
